Camping with Assistive Technology

KimKim Karwal is the Rural Solutions and Assistive Technology Center Coordinator at Easter Seals Iowa. She has worked for Easter Seals Iowa for five years and says she enjoys every moment! In her role she has a unique opportunity to travel the state to support farm family members with disabilities and provide assistive technology support for children and adults with disabilities and/or special needs.

There are many areas around Iowa for an exciting camping adventure. If you do not have a tent, consider borrowing one from our Easter Seals Iowa Assistive Technology Center Lending Library. Take the opportunity to schedule a time to see what other recreational devices the AT Center has!

Columbia Two Room Tent (AT4All # 163688) This tent is large and tall, it has a stargazer window and a wheeled carry bag for easier transport.

Telerik.Web.UI.WebResource.axdPop-Up Tent (AT4All # 161400) This tent pops right up when you unbuckle the straps. Instructions to take the tent down are included. This tent is lightweight and compacts to a small circle with carrying straps.

For more information or to see these devices, visit www.eastersealsia.at4all.com or contact the Easter Seals Iowa Assistive Technology Program by calling 1-866-866-8782 (Toll Free), or 515-289-4069 (TTY) or emailing atinfo@eastersealsia.org.
